Let’s say your matrilineal line is fairly consistent and everyone has their daughter at 25. So four women in your matrilineal line are born every hundred years. In a thousand years, that’s only 40 women. Like the math is so simple and yet ? You don’t think about it. So in 2000 years, 80 women. So basically, 0 AD started roughly about 80 mothers ago. That’s it.

I get that this is a thought experiment. That you can just jump back daughter to mother and it’s something between 80-1XX generations back to the start of the CE. (Probably more like 120 or 130 generations rather than 80) But that’s not how it actually works. I have two grandmothers. I have four great grandmothers. I have DNA from all these women. I have 8 great great grandmothers. (2^3) and 2^4 or 16 great great great grandmothers and on and on. so let’s say I go back 100 or so  generations. That’s over 9000 women who have had children that contributed to my DNA and led to me being here and typing this. Sure. I could trace a line back (at least in theory) through one rather arbitrary line. But I mean we each were built by an army of women. Each of is more than 10k women strong. (And men are too. I wish some men appreciated that a little more.)
