i don’t know how you could watch blackfish or any of the other documentaries or footage about the treatment of orcas and dolphins, some of the most intelligent and emotional animals on this planet, and think oh yeah it’s cool seaworld throws money at animal rescues, who cares. animals doing tricks for massive entertainment corporations is a wholly unnecessary institution. it’s essentially a circus, and most people are on board with avoiding circuses because of animal cruelty, but all of a sudden when it comes to seaworld people fight tooth and nail to defend it because it’s “fun and educational”.
You can get the same fun and probably a shit ton more education at a goddamned aquarium
