I guess for me the biggest qualm is that LGBT+ people continue to not have pleasant representations, and a lot of movies and shows feel the need to near fetishize the pains and difficulties that come with being LGBT+ in the real world.

I think a lot of us just want to see pleasant, easy representation so much that we end up pushing away all upsetting (even if realistic) portrayals. I won’t say a movie or show is Bad for it, but I’m ready to see some like unrealistically blissful gay people for once. Straight people get that so often.
