Hey, I just wanted to get out here and say a little thing.

I understand the appeal to especially announce suicides, death by specific diseases, etc, in the interest of prevention. I really do. But especially in terms of respecting the privacy and intimacy of death, please don’t take it upon yourself to announce someone’s suicide in a public Facebook post.

Please also don’t, in that same post, feel compelled to analyze their last post on social media and claim you think it’s connected.

Please respect the privacy of the dead and their close friends and family unless they specifically want you to announce their loved one’s suicide for prevention purposes.

Sometimes my allergies get so bad that I just stick tissues up my nose and let the Benadryl send me to Jesus for around ten hours, which would be fine if I didn’t sleep in the same bed as another person, but boy, do I ever, and let me tell ya’, they are not thrilled about waking up to me just spewing ectoplasm like an 1870s spiritualist.

Pictured: Me, four Benadryl deep.

Me with the girlfriend I made out of used tissues after my partner left me for being super yucky.

Got your nose

yeah im actually so fucking tired of this period nonsense.

trans women CANNOT get periods. they do not have a uterus. that is the sole reason women have periods.

it is not due to an increase in estrogen. it is not due to the fact that you “feel” like a woman.

a period happens because, about once a month, the uterus sheds its lining. thats all folks!

my mother is a cis woman whose uterus was removed seven years ago well into menopause and she has had phantom period cramps on a 28 day cycle because of her hormone therapy ever since so like… what’s your fuckin point

and don’t try “yeah but your mother is AFAB” because yes, she is! but she doesn’t have a uterus either and yet here we are, with her, age 54 and uterus-less, having more regular “periods” than I do at 29 with uterus still included, because of her HRT.

“phantom period cramps” arent a period? at all? my mom got a hysterectomy too i know about all that good stuff we are close her and i. and she got it pre menopause as well. your anecdote is irrelevant

a PERIOD means MENSTRUATING girl read a book!

my point is literally that you can get all the symptoms- enough to need medication and accommodation, including bed rest- without actually bleeding, on the same cycle where blood would be (and tbh I actually experienced that myself during a point in my late teens where my actual menstruation dried up but I was still getting all the other symptoms on the cycle that the blood should have been on), and it’s not exactly a stretch to call that “a period” when “period” is a fucking euphemism to begin with.

like honestly if you’re going to turn this into some kind of fucked up game over who has the hardest time on their monthly cycle, cis women or the population of trans women that experience a hormonally induced cycle, and who has the right to declare what is and isn’t a period and whether or not trans women have the right to use what is in effect a word created to avoid actually having to say “monthly vaginal bleeding”, I could go on for probably four paragraphs about everything wrong with and painful about my menstrual cycle and win by default, but frankly I would really prefer to avoid that when it’s fuckheads like you that somehow think bleeding from a hole is a badge of femininity to be jealously guarded away and not even metaphorically extended to other kinds of women.
