Anyone else thought about how good Sandor and Sansa would look together now? He’s all cleaned up and looking handsome and consort-worthy and they even match in the colour stakes.  He wouldn’t look out of place sitting at the Lady of Winterfell’s side any more.

Stark Sister boyfriends need to get their shit together….

Honestly, the only good thing in that episode was seeing Sandor, Gendry and Jon interact and being able to think, “aww, look at the brother-in-laws!”

[Stannis voice: “brothers-in-law”]

BUT YES I just kept thinking of all the fic authors who have written SanSan/Gendrya double-date stuff and how delighted the must’ve been 😉

(Me to Stannis: Forgive me, your grace. The hour is late, my eyesight is bleary, and my grammar is not up to royal standards)
Lol

I mean, it really was great fanfic fodder all round! Mainly because the whole bro trip was basically just fanservice in itself. But hey, at least it was fanservice I was actually kinda into this time?
It just made me think of some time in the future (not the future we’ll ever see on the show, but an alternate fanfic future) when they’ll all make it to Winterfell and hilarity will ensue when Jon realises their romantic attachments to his sisters and is completely baffled.
I can see Gendry being all shy, awkward and apologetic about it (Arya, on the other hand, doesn’t care for Jon’s intimidation tactics at all) while Sandor is like “you can’t scare me Snow, I’m actually a grown up” (meanwhile Sansa casually flaunts their relationship in front everyone by feeding him tidbits at the dinner table and smothering him with cuddles).

[very well, just this once, but you are ON NOTICE]

Maayyyybeeee that’s the reason they have NOT brought up Arya/Sansa in convo between the 3 of them yet? So that they can have that “whomp-whooooomp” moment next season, LOL.

Anyway, even though I agree it was good fanservice fodder, I feel like you could have shut your eyes and thrown a dart at literally any random AO3 author and they could’ve come up with better/more clever dialogue for these characters… :-/

Personally, I think it would have been even more fun if everyone met at Winterfell, past relationships were acknowledged/hinted at, and THEN the boys had to go on a hike they’ve already committed to together, wondering where everyone stands, and trying to get the facts from one another on the way to possible doom. They were already going through everyone’s feelings and backstories that episode anyway, and what better time for conflict and/or bonding, right?

Yes, but that would all be a bit too logical and satisfying, wouldn’t it? This is GOT we’re talking about…

Sandor: It’s gingers I hate.
Sandor: *peaks over his shoulder to make sure Sansa Stark isn’t in range to hear, also knowing full well that she couldn’t possibly hear him from miles and miles away wherever she is, still needing to check anyways Just In Case*
