Sometimes I am really sorry that Tanz is not based on a literary original. All musicals based on novels or any other kind of literary work provide a real additional value for fans in terms of imagination and research. Think of the Les Mis, PotO, Rebecca, Great Comet, HoND, Dracula, Count of Monte Christo, aso.

How wonderful it must be to have a Tanz der Vampire original novel to read, interprete, debate, work on… I could imagine a mix of travel report of Professor Abronsius, Alfred’s diary and ateocity story plus maybe added Romanian legends as this was done in novels around the beginning of the 20th century often. But worse luck, there is none…
